Father's Day and Princess Berkley

Princess Berkley came to visit Father's Day weekend!  Abby's love for her grew while Mia's wavered a bit.  The Father's enjoyed a nice hot day of golf on Sunday and then a hearty meal and a dip in the pool was had by all.

P.S, After 5 blissful years together, my Mac book has bit the dust.  I am not sure I truly appreciated my Mac until tonight, since it has taken me almost 3 long hours to upload and post this blog entry on Shawn's Dell work computer.  Not sure if I will be wasting my free time on blogs while I am without a Mac, so until next time.......

Fresh hair cuts were given to the two youngsters.  Abby thinks it is pretty cool that her Pepaw is a barber!

If anyone else besides Pepaw was cutting Mia's hair she would have bitten them!

And Happy Father's Day Shawn, we love you dearly!

Country Music Capitol with the 4 L's!

When Shawn and I decided to move from Dallas, I was pregnant with Abby.  We were moving away from friends and family to a new town without a house let alone a nursery for our eight day old baby.  The office that Shawn was relocating to had two open management positions.  Shawn filled one of them and Lyndon, a coworker of Shawn's from Dallas, was filling the other.  Lyndon was to be Shawn's boss which he was excited about.  I was excited because Lyndon had a wonderful wife Laura and a little boy with another on the way.  It made the move so much easier knowing we already had friends.
Abby and I would crash their house once or twice a week and when our husbands traveled we would always hang out till the late hours of the night.  Abby adored and looked up to their oldest son and when their second son was born Abby pretty much considered him her little brother.  Laura also became a life saver when I was pregnant with Mia.  She understood my horrible pregnancies because she had experienced them too.
And then after almost three years ...... Lyndon had to go and get relocated to a new office in a different state, far away from our little family.  I won't lie, it really sucked for the first couple of months after they moved!  Abby, Mia and I had to go out and make new friends, Shawn was traveling a bit more in his new position ( he took over Lyndon's), and we missed our friends.
Last year we were able to fly and visit the 4L's (a little nickname) in their new town, but this year we decided to meet them half way.  So on Friday, we loaded up the car and headed to the Country Music Capital of the World!

Nashville is pretty fun for a 5, 4, 3, and 2 year old.  The old people had pretty good time too!

Friendships

Abby and Mia have been blessed with great friends in our "little" town!

This is Abby's good friend.  She wants him to have a sleep over so that she can show him her pretty bed and play dress up with her dresses.  Not sure how he feels about that!

Abby's friend just so happens to have a little sister who just turned two!  Mia picked out this pretty fairy dress for her friend.  Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

If you want to play ring around the rosy or princess dress up this is the team to call!

Or perhaps you would like to have a dance party.....

and eat Elmo cupcakes....

Mermaids

The swim lessons have begun!  They both did great for their first lesson of the year.  Although both girls were a little fussy, they completed each task and there were no actual tears!  I have some hope that Abby might be swimming on her own by the end of the summer.  My hope for Mia is to learn safety and to help her feel more comfortable in the water.  The swim school they are taking lessons from is really great and yes, they require the swim caps!  Abby's swim teacher is a "BOY" and she thinks that is pretty cool!  When I called to sign them up,  I requested a teacher who would be good with a child that is terrified of swimming.  I have to say that I was very surprised with how well he did with her.  Mia's teacher is very soft spoken but yet seemed to pick up very quickly that Mia is a spit fire!

(If you want to watch the video without the music from the blog, scroll down to the bottom of the page and turn the music off or else it will interfere with the video sound)

Mia's face is so small and the swim cap is so big it pushes her eyes down and she looks like a little bull dog!
