Abby turns FIVE!!!

For Abby's fifth birthday we drove to Dallas for a special day at the American Girl Store.  Abby was able to pick out her first American Girl doll and tour the store with a tour guide.  Then, to top off the visit we were able to get a table at the American Girl Bistro for lunch!

Knowing that this little one would be a bit jealous, Grammy and Chief brought Mia a baby doll from a different store!  We have very appropriately named it "Big Baby"!

Strep Throat and Valentines day

Abby and Mia were struck with their first case Strep Throat the day before Valentines.  This led to a day home from school and 10 days of antibiotics for my two little ones.  It just so happened to snow on their sick day so I let them out for 5 minutes to play.

And yes, that is chocolate on Mia's face!

Mia and her elephant valentine

This year I wanted Abby to be happy with store bought valentines, but my girl had something else in mind.  I made the mistake of showing her some ideas off the Internet and she just had to make these little mice for her new friends at school.  Turns out she really wanted her mama to make the little mice while she watched.  It took some time, lots of encouragement and a few tears, but she finally finished with 16 cute little mice.

Busy Weekends!!

Since arriving in our new city we have been spending our weekends checking out the local kid attractions.  So far we have spent an afternoon flying kites, a day at the zoo, and a morning at the science museum.  All adventures have been a hit with the kids and adults!

Taking advantage of our windy city!
Watch out Pepaw!
RUN MIA RUN!!

City Zoo
Mia, our elephant whisperer, insisted on seeing the baby elephant first.
Abby would be happy if the zoo was just statues of animals!

Feeding the giraffes was the highlight of the zoo!

The Science Museum
Anxiously waiting for the "Science Live" show to begin!
