buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks...

Shawn's office had box seats at the Travelers game this week.  One of the luxuries that we miss from Dallas is going to the Ranger games so this is a nice substitute.

Vacation Bible School

Over the past 3 years that we have been attending our church I have politely declined the offer to help teach vacation bible school.  This year, I decided that I should give a little of my time and help out.  Because I was working, Abby and Mia were able to attend.  Abby loved it... Mia, well, lets just say she survived! At the end of the week the girls came home with a few goodies that they made.

The BIG 30!

I turned 30, I am old.
Normally I do not mind birthday's,
but this one was a little hard.
Shawn and the kids helped make the day
a little better by making me a cake.

Did I mention that I received this wonderful gift from Shawn's parents... Are you jealous?

Picture for Grammy

Over the past few months,
Shawn's mom(aka Grammy),
 has been experiencing nerve pain
in her back. To help ease some pain,
Abby and Mia decorated a beautiful picture frame with her favorite picture in it.

Because two paint brushes are better than one.

My Little Fish

Today, my little fish was not happy to be in the water.  Before we got out of the car she told me "Momma I don't want to die".  I didn't even know she knew what dying was, but it broke my heart to hear her say it.  She whined throughout the lesson but did not scream, even after the teacher took her under water a few times.  I was very impressed with this place.  The teacher, Ms. Angel, knew what she was doing and even got a few smiles out of Abby.  My favorite part of the lesson was the kitty swim cap (its a requirement for the pool).

JULY 4th

3

I love her air guitar
We traveled to Edmond, OK this weekend to visit my parents and to celebrate July 4th.  We kicked the weekend off with a parade downtown.  Abby and Mia enjoyed themselves and were surprisingly well behaved.
While we were at the parade, my sister Christy and her two kids were traveling in the rain to visit us.  Her car hydroplaned, hit a concrete barrier and went off the road.  God was watching over them, because the only injury was a Toyota Corolla.  Shawn and my Dad immediately left and picked up two scared kiddos and one thankful momma, and brought them back to the house.  We celebrated with great food and more family came by to visit.
Then on July 4th, Mia's virus reared its ugly head again after a week and a half of being gone.  We are now suspecting that this is a milk allergy and not a virus.  I predict many doctors' visits in my future.

Lazy days and a little bit of crafting

Craft: Spaghetti art

This craft was a little hard so we decided to just eat the noodles.

While Abby is mastering art... Mia is mastering climbing.

Many days this week were spent being lazy due to Mia's unhappy digestive issues!
Craft: Bird house

I know it's not the most creative craft but I would just like to brag a bit on Abby's skills.  A few months ago, she could hardly draw a circle, now she is drawing lions.  It might look like scribble to most, but to this momma it is a masterpiece!
