House Updates

Can you guess what is happening at our house today?  The girls are impatiently awaiting their house warming present from their grammy and chief.
Yes, they are reading the directions!

While father and son are busy building a swing set/club house, I have been preparing homemade chicken noodle soup.

We have made more progress on the house. I had the kitchen cabinets painted.  At first Shawn was going to do it, but we both decided that it would be a better idea to hire some one.
Before
After
(excuse the mess, I was actually cooking:))
We still need to paint the kitchen and get black granite counter tops and new backsplash!

The girls play room is very close to being complete, all I need is to order a quilt and get art work for the walls.
Always a mess.
This is everyones favorite room in the house!

Boston (sans two little girls)!

Shawn hosted a work trip to Boston for some of his customers.  This was the first trip that Shawn planned/hosted as the manager so he was a little nervous. There were over 70 customers from Shawn's office and the Dallas office. Everyone had a great time, and Shawn and I got to enjoy Boston without the two little ones.
We went to Salem, MA. where the famous witch trials took place.  Interesting town is all I am going to say about that!
Private tour of Fenway Park
Shawn was so excited to take his picture with this guy who is in the Sam Adams commercial!  I have never paid attention to beer commercials so I didn't understand all the excitement, but here is the picture anyway!

While we were gone, my mom (a.k.a. Memaw) came to spend some time with the girls, they were in heaven despite a little stomach bug that went around!

Cowboy Day

Abby's pre-k class was having Cowboy Day at school so Mia and I joined with all the fun!
Abby loves her teacher Mrs. Beth, she also ADORES this little boy to the right.  She says "he is so nice momma, he protects me like a family"  and "I am going to marry him".  Shawn and I have never talked about boyfriends in front of her so she doesn't really know what that concept is.  Instead she jumps into full blown MARRIAGE! Perhaps we should mention the boyfriend concept to her!!!
I love this picture of Mia.  She really was trying hard to be like the big kids!
She got right in line with Abby's class.
This is Abby's future sister in law.  This cutie is two months younger than Mia (just an example of how tiny Mia is)!

Fall Crafts

There is something in the fall air that causes my girls to have craft fever!

Farewell to Summer

Before the summer ended the girls had one last frolic in the sprinkler and ride in the Barbie jeep!

And of course Abby ends up striping down to her underwear.
